PTA Roles
- Vice President of Programs - Coordinates student programs that support classroom curriculum and promotes positive character education.
- Vice President of Corporate Incentives & the Corporate Incentives Committee - Coordinates direct donations throughout the year, solicits Spirit Night opportunities from local businesses, organizes corporate incentive programs including but not limited to Box Tops, Amazon Smile, and store reward programs (i.e. Kroger and Safeway/Tom Thumb) and coordinates sponsorships for the Event Fundraising and Family Engagement Committees.
- Vice President of Membership - Promotes an active and continuing membership of Heritage Elementary PTA; provides compiled membership lists, including address and phone numbers to the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and one set for membership records. Sends membership information to Texas PTA as required. Serves as chair for the Life Membership committee.
- Vice President of Communications & the Communications Committee - Solicits material from board members and compiles information to be included in weekly e-blasts, website postings, and consistently updates and manages social media accounts to communicate pertinent and timely information. Completes website administration duties as necessary throughout the year to support chairs, staff, and families.
- Arts in Education Committee - Helps to promote and encourage students and their families to learn about the various forms of art. The Arts in Education Committee will organize and plan all activities related to Reflections, Book Fair, Birthday Book Club and various programs in support of our "specials" teachers.
- Campus Enrichment Committee - Helps to promote the importance of protecting the environment through hands-on experiences with organic gardening. The Campus Enrichment Committee will organize and plan all activities related to the outdoor classroom, partnerships with local service organizations, Recycling Club and campus improvement opportunities.
- Celebrations & Recognition's Committee - Promotes the recognition and celebration of the Heritage community. The Celebrations & Recognition Committee will organize and plan all activities related to teacher and staff birthdays, Teacher Appreciation Week, Principal's Day, Nurse's Day, Admin Day, etc. Additionally this committee will oversee the teacher grants program.
- Event Fundraising Committee - Promotes unique and exciting fundraising opportunities for the Heritage Elementary PTA. The Event Fundraising Committee will organize and plan all activities related to the Fall Fundraiser, Hawk Fest and Silent Auction.
- Family Engagement Committee - Encourages families to engage in campus activities. The Family Engagement Committee will organize and plan all activities related to Back to School Bash, Tears and Cheers, End of Year Bash, Senior Breakfast and Heritage Social Events. This committee will also partner with Watch D.O.G.S. various activities throughout the year.
- Healthy Lifestyles Committee - Promotes and empowers families to engage in healthy lifestyles. The Healthy Lifestyles Committee will organize and plan all activities related to Family Fitness Day, Healthy Lifestyles Month, Random Acts of Kindness Week, STAAR snacks and Running Club.
- Hospitaltiy Committee - Promotes teacher and staff outreach in the form of hospitality events throughout the year. The Hospitality Committee will organize and plan all activities related to monthly teacher/staff luncheons and support various social events for teachers and staff throughout the year.
- Student Services Committee - Promotes and encourage student engagement. The Student Services Committee will organize and plan all activities related to spirit wear sales, wrap pack sales and student scholarship needs.
- Volunteer Committee - Encourages volunteerism within the Heritage community. The Volunteer Committee will organize and plan all volunteer needs for campus-wide events and programs.
- Council Delegate – Represents Heritage Elementary PTA as a delegate to the Lewisville ISD Council of PTAs. Attends regularly scheduled LISD Council meetings, voting as a representative of Heritage Elementary PTA. Relays any information from the LISD Council to appropriate members of the PTA in a timely manner and summarizes all pertinent information from LISD Council to the Heritage Elementary PTA executive board.
- GLCs - Each grade level has a Grade Level Coordinator who works with the lead teacher to plan the end of the year grade level party as well as coordinating classroom parties in December and February with the room representatives.
- Memories Chair – Works with the 5th grade teachers to coordinate the Memories program at the end of school.
- Watch D.O.G.S. - A pair of “Top Dog” volunteers who partner with the school administration to coordinate scheduling and identify opportunities for Watch D.O.G.S. to provide assistance at the school.
