Congratulations to our 2020-2021 Life Member Award Recipients

The Texas PTA's Honorary Life Member Award is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon an individual by the Texas PTA for outstanding contributions to the well-being of children and youth.  Heritage PTA is pleased to announce this year's recipients are Jeanne Iacobucci and Michelle Reed!  Congratulations to each of you!

Jeanne Iacobucci is our treasured attendance clerk here at Heritage since 2009. You will find her in the front office with a genuine smile and the warmest welcome. She has worked tirelessly this year at her job to support the students. With all that has gone on with Covid-19 she has had double the amount of work juggling remote, in-person learning, asynchronous plans, and coding it all in a timely manner for the state. Most do not realize all that her job entails, but she does it all with a smile and grace and always a positive attitude. Without Jeanne our campus would not have proper funding and the kids experience at HES would suffer. She is such a bright light for our campus during such a difficult time.

Michelle Reed is an impeccable community leader, PTA board member and GLC for Heritage. Her thorough knowledge of the school, PTA and grade levels does not go unnoticed. She has provided the school with several programs and enhancements. She always provides a helping hand to families, teachers and PTA committees. She is consistently finding creative ways to stay engaged with them, through her volunteering efforts and the programs she contracts. Michelle encourages participation, thinks outside the box, and gives so much of her time doing everything she can for our students.

If you have joined PTA, THANK YOU!

For the past 3 years we have reached our goal to have 100% PTA membership at Heritage and been one of the only 2 schools to achieve this in the district.  Let's keep this going and have

"One Voice for Every Child"!

Anyone can join, parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, community members, small businesses.  Consider doing a Family Membership it helps us reach our goal faster.

A drawing will be done on September 30th for everyone that joins before then!

Watch DOGS are back on patrol! (outdoors for arrivals only right now)
Even though it’s not time for us to go inside yet, we can still accomplish quite a bit between 7:10-7:50am:
* Cheerfully welcome students & teachers
* Assist with school safety during “rush hour”
* Help the car line move efficiently, yet safely
* Remind students to wear their masks
* Reduce the morning workload for teachers
* Increase male presence / role models at school

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students)

WATCH D.O.G.S. is a national program in more than 6,450 schools across the country that invites background-checked fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other “father figures” to volunteer at school for at least one full school day. The goals of the Watch D.O.G.S. program are to provide positive male role models for the students -- demonstrating by their presence that education is important, and to provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

The program is overseen by a pair of “Top Dog” volunteers who partner with the school administration to coordinate scheduling and identify opportunities for Watch D.O.G.S. to provide assistance at the school. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks, including helping with arrivals/departures, helping teachers as needed, patrolling the hallways, making sure exterior doors are secured, playing with students during recess periods, and anything else needed by the office staff.

For more information, or to sign up as a Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer at Heritage, please contact our "Top Dogs": Chris Dooley and Jon Lentini.
