Teacher Wish Lists

Our amazing teachers have created virtual Book Wish Lists of books that they use to read to their students and are used for reading and research purposes in their classroom.  Please follow this link to review the Book Wish Lists via Google Docs at

If you purchase a Wish List Book(s) below is the procedure to delivery.

We are so happy and thankful that you have chosen to purchase book(s) from our Teachers' Wish List.  Due to Covid and LISD precautions like Level Orange, we do have a procedure we need the Wish List books to complete to be able to be delivered to the appropriate classroom after a period of quarantine.

Books purchased from our Teacher's Wish Lists must be -

1. Returned to the school in a tied/closed plastic bag (grocery type plastic bag)

2. Please label the outside of the bag with the Teacher's Name and your Student's Name

3. Bagged books should be placed in the bins near the front of the school marked Wish List Books

4. After books remain in the bins for a period of time (school will decide appropriate time period) the books will be distributed to the Teacher.

Thank you again for adding new and exciting books to our teachers' rooms!

Heritage Elementary

Watch DOGS are back on patrol! (outdoors for arrivals only right now)
Even though it’s not time for us to go inside yet, we can still accomplish quite a bit between 7:10-7:50am:
* Cheerfully welcome students & teachers
* Assist with school safety during “rush hour”
* Help the car line move efficiently, yet safely
* Remind students to wear their masks
* Reduce the morning workload for teachers
* Increase male presence / role models at school

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students)

WATCH D.O.G.S. is a national program in more than 6,450 schools across the country that invites background-checked fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other “father figures” to volunteer at school for at least one full school day. The goals of the Watch D.O.G.S. program are to provide positive male role models for the students -- demonstrating by their presence that education is important, and to provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

The program is overseen by a pair of “Top Dog” volunteers who partner with the school administration to coordinate scheduling and identify opportunities for Watch D.O.G.S. to provide assistance at the school. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks, including helping with arrivals/departures, helping teachers as needed, patrolling the hallways, making sure exterior doors are secured, playing with students during recess periods, and anything else needed by the office staff.

For more information, or to sign up as a Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer at Heritage, please contact our "Top Dogs": Chris Dooley and Jon Lentini.
